The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) Annual Convention and World Languages Expo brings together thousands of teachers, administrators, method instructors and students of foreign languages at all levels from across the world. The convention features over 600 educational sessions on such topics areas as: Assessment, Culture, Curriculum, Literature, Methods/Techniques, Advocacy and Policy Issues, Professional Development, Research, Specific Purposes, Standards and Technology.

What makes an exemplary World Languages, ESL or Bilingual program? Come listen to what educational leaders and Model Program awardees from across the state have to say, as they provide real world examples of language curriculum, instruction and assessment at its best. This workshop will be divided into two parts: theoretical best practices of second language acquisition and their practical application in Model Program districts. Dr. Mary Curran, professor at the Graduate School of Education at Rutgers University, will be our keynote speaker. Programs at the elementary, middle and high school levels will be honored.
