In accordance with the FLENJ Mission, to advance policy and practice to promote excellence in world languages education, executive board members are working to create materials for use with policy makers in the state and at the local level.
FLENJ is seeking proposals for workshops to be presented at our annual spring conference. With approximately 500 world language specialists in attendance, this conference offers presenters a wonderful opportunity to share their ideas with educators from around the state. Please complete the proposal form and submit it by August 15, 2009.
Join the conversation about the decision to eliminate AP Italian. Add your comments and share ideas with colleagues around the state and country.

Three years in the making, the assessment tasks found on this web site are the product from teachers in four New Jersey school districts. All work for this project was funded by a Foreign Language Assistance Program grant that was awarded in September, 2003.

The New Jersey Department of Education is spearheading a major, multi-year professional development initiative “Creating 21st Century Schools.” In support of this initiative, the theme of the NJTESOL-NJBE’s Spring Conference 2010 will be “21st Century Learning for ELLs”.

Betsy Brennan of Hoboken, a graduate of the class 2009 from The Hudson School, received a full scholarship worth $15,000 paid by the U.S. Congress and the German Bundestag. She underwent a rigorous application process in which she was selected along with only four other students from our state.
